Peace
Garden with four element gardens:
We have created a sanctuary Peace
Garden, which has a beautiful heart-shaped herb garden in the centre of the lower
garden, with four element gardens around the outside laid out according to
the directions within the Celtic tradition. Thus the water garden is
in the west, the fire garden in the south, the air garden in the east and
the earth garden in the north. The rose covered arch leads into the
upper garden which provides a tranquil space for activities such as 'peace dancing' and
movement work.
Emissary
Wheel
James Twyman workshop 2004:
Meditation within the central Star of David in the
Emissary Wheel (Acorns)
EmissaryWheel
With
the help of friends, we recently created an
Emissary Wheel, close to the Sound Peace Chamber, using crystals and
willow.
The
Emissary Wheel, inspired by James Twyman is a symbol from sacred
geometry, an ancient science that explores the patterns that create and
unify all things. Praying and meditating with the wheel can increase
awareness of the interdependence of all living things and assist in
facilitating openings of energy and profound shifts of consciousness. James
Twyman is an internationally renowned 'Peace Troubadour' who has
travelled around the world encouraging people to work together to find
peaceful resolution to conflicts.
Sacred
Grove: The Sacred Grove is a circle of trees that were planted 15
years ago and portray the trees that are incorporated into the 13 months
of the Celtic lunar calendar. A set of Celtic tree 'Ogham Sticks'
are used to gain insights and for divination. Shrines to our male
and female ancestors have been created at the entrance to the Sacred
Grove.
Ancient
Oak Tree: We are blessed with the presence of the ancient oak tree,
which must be 3-400 years old and stands guardian beside the Sound Peace
Chamber. It is said to be the descendant of an ancient sacred grove
and ten years ago, we planted some of its offspring into a large ring that
stretches right across the field.
